The coastal cooking is rich of fish-dishes, it is tastefully and rich and it presents a variety of fish-soups called brodetti, among which the most famous are that of Pescara, of San Vito and of Vasto.
Here the cooking is rich of bluefish and rock fish, you can eat wonderful mussels and shellfishes that are served together with soups, risotto, pasta and seasoned with fresh salad.
The taste of brodetti and of the different elements which are made up of, are different depending on the zone. For example in the area that starts from Martinsicuro arriving to Francavilla the brodetti have a very strong taste and flavour, they taste of chilly pepper and tomatoes, instead in the area that starts from Ortona arriving to San Salvo , the brodetti are simpler, are just coloured and the fish odour and taste dominates.
